Santa’s helpers keep queues moving, run games and wander the crowd. Book elves alongside Santa, or on their own for markets and events.
Santa’s helpers, ready for the crowd
A good elf makes a Santa event run smoothly. They line the children up, keep an eye on the clock, wave to the kids who are waiting and have a quick joke ready for the one who is crying. Parents often remember the elf as much as Santa.
Our elves are professionally trained performers from a network of 500 across Australia, and each holds a current Working With Children Check or state equivalent. They are comfortable in busy centres, noisy halls and outdoor events.
Book one elf to help a single Santa, or a few to cover a larger space. Elves are part of the cast we supply alongside Santa and Mrs Claus.
What elves do at an event
The job depends on the event. These are the tasks we are asked about most.
- Queue management at photo sets, including a friendly word with each family
- Games and simple activities for children who are waiting
- Handing out gifts or treats you have supplied
- Roving through shopping centres, markets and festivals
- Greeting guests at corporate family days
- Supporting Santa and Mrs Claus on stage at carols and shows
- Helping with photo set resets between families
Elves on their own
Markets and street festivals
A roving elf adds colour and gets kids and parents talking. No Santa needed.
Stage shows and carols
Elves can warm up the crowd and help children onto the stage. See carols and stage Santas.
Planning your elves
Tell us the space, the hours and the crowd size and we will suggest how many elves you need. A single photo set usually runs well with one. A roaming event across a large centre may need more.

Christmas elf hire, your questions answered
Can I hire an elf without Santa?
Yes. Elves work well alone at markets, festivals, stage shows and family days.
How many elves do I need?
One elf suits a single photo set. Larger spaces or roving events may need more. Tell us the details and we will suggest a number.
Can elves hand out our gifts?
Yes. You supply the gifts or treats and the elves hand them out, or help Santa to.
Are the elves checked?
Every performer holds a current Working With Children Check or state equivalent, such as the VIC Working with Children Check, NSW WWCC or QLD Blue Card, and is professionally trained.
What does it cost?

Can elves work with a Santa from another supplier?
Ask us when you enquire. It is simpler and smoother when the whole team is from one booking, so we recommend that.
