A calm, friendly Santa visit for aged care homes, retirement villages, respite and disability services, at a pace that suits your residents.
A quieter kind of Santa visit
A visit to an aged care home is not a loud, busy event. It is a chance for residents to enjoy some company, a chat and a bit of Christmas cheer. Our Santas take it slowly. They sit down, listen and let the conversation go where it goes.
Lifestyle and activities teams know their residents best. We ask you how you would like the visit to run, then the performer follows your lead. That might be a gathering in the main lounge, a gentle walk through common areas, or a visit to individual rooms for residents who would like one.
We work with aged care homes, retirement villages, independent living communities, respite services and disability support services. Visits can be short or longer, with Mrs Claus joining if you would like some extra company in the room.
How a visit can run
No two homes are alike, but most visits are built from a few simple pieces.
- Santa arrives and checks in with the lifestyle team or the coordinator
- A hello in the main lounge or dining area, with time for a chat and a photo
- A walk through common areas, stopping wherever residents would like a visit
- Rooms visited only where invited, with staff leading the way
- A gift or small treat handed out, if the home supplies them
- A relaxed goodbye, without any rush
Families, grandchildren and staff
A Santa visit is often the day that families turn up in numbers. Many homes hold a Christmas afternoon so grandchildren and great grandchildren can join in, and Santa is a lovely excuse for a photo with four generations in the one frame.
Staff deserve some Christmas fun too. We also supply Santa for staff Christmas lunches and end of year gatherings, with a gift hand-out or a few photos. Tell us what you have planned and we will suggest what suits.
Places Santa can visit
Aged care homes
Lounge gatherings, afternoon teas and visits in common areas.
Retirement villages
Community halls, village Christmas parties and residents’ lunches.
Respite and disability services
Calm visits with a pace and group size that suits your clients.
Planning your visit
Tell us a bit about your residents when you enquire. How many people are expected, whether it is one room or several, if there are residents who prefer a quiet visit and how long you would like Santa to stay. We are not clinicians and do not provide care, so we rely on your team to guide the visit and be present throughout.
Weekday afternoons are often the easiest time for homes, while weekend visits suit families. Late November and December is busy, so book early to get your preferred day.
