Santa visits that suit a centre day
A visit to a centre is very different from a shopping centre photo queue. The children already know each other, the educators know which little ones need a bit of space, and the day has a routine that Santa needs to fit into rather than disrupt.
Our Santas are used to this. They arrive on time, check in with whoever is running the day and keep things short and relaxed. Bookings start from one hour, which most centres split across rooms or age groups. Larger schools often book a longer visit with a set program.
We work with childcare centres, long day care, kindergartens, family day care groups, out of school hours care and primary schools. If you are not sure how long to book for, tell us the number of children and rooms in the quote form and we will help you plan it.
A gentle approach for shy and nervous little ones
Not every child wants to run up to a big man in a red suit, and that is completely normal. Our performers let children come to them. They will wave from across the room, sit down at child height and let nervous kids watch for a while from an educator’s lap or from the back.
If your centre prefers children to sit on a chair next to Santa rather than on his lap, just tell us when you book. It is a very common request and we are happy to follow your centre’s policy. Some centres also like an educator to stay beside each child for photos, which works well.
For toddlers and babies, a visit often works best with Santa sitting on the floor in a calm space, or doing a slow walk through the rooms. Your educators know the children best, so we follow their lead.
How a visit can run
Every centre is a little different, but these are the pieces most bookings are built from:
- Santa arrives and has a quick chat with the director or teacher in charge
- A group hello, a song or a short story for each room
- Gifts handed out one by one, with the centre supplying the gifts and Santa giving them out by name
- Photos with educators or parents taking them on your own camera or phone
- A wave goodbye, then on to the next room or the next centre

Gifts, safety and checks
Centres usually supply their own gifts, and Santa hands them out. Please label gifts with the child’s name so nothing gets mixed up, and tell us about any allergies or sensitivities, such as lollies or latex balloons, so we can plan around them.
Every performer we send holds a current Working With Children Check or state equivalent. That is the VIC Working with Children Check, NSW WWCC, QLD Blue Card, WA WWC Card, SA Working with Children Check, ACT WWVP registration, NT Ochre Card or TAS Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, depending on your state. We can supply details for your records if your centre needs them.
Late November and December is busy, and weekday mornings fill quickly in the last two weeks of term. Book early to get the time you want.

How long should a childcare visit be?
Bookings start from one hour, which suits most centres. Tell us your numbers of rooms and children in the quote form and we will suggest a length.
Can children sit on a chair instead of Santa’s lap?
Yes. Many centres prefer this, and we follow your policy. Just let us know when you book.
What if a child is scared of Santa?
That is common and fine. Our performers let children warm up in their own time, and nobody is ever pushed into a photo.
Can Santa hand out gifts we supply?
Yes. Label each gift with the child’s name and Santa will give them out.
Are your Santas checked to work with children?
Yes. Every performer holds a current Working With Children Check or the state equivalent, such as the VIC Working with Children Check, NSW WWCC or QLD Blue Card.
Can you visit several centres on the same day?
